Der KODE5 Sieger
Interview with MJE
mymTw.com: Hello Mo, first of all congratulations on your
victory at Kode5. You finally managed to reach the first place at an
international Tournament. Can you describe your feelings after you
completely dominated fnatic on two maps?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
We were all really happy of course, finally, we won a big event after
two second places at WCG and ESWC. It felt very unreal to crush the
world's best team on two maps, it is really hard to describe. We all
enjoyed it.
mymTw.com: You had a pretty easy group on saturday, just
MeetYourMakers was a tough enemy and unfortunately you lost against
them in a really close match. Back then did you still think you could
win the tournament?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
Of course we still thought we could win the tournament. The match
against MYM was great but unfortunately we lost, but it all turned to
be okay, because I think we got an easier bracket with the so it was
all good. We never got the chance to beat MYM after the match, but I
would love to meet them in the finals in order to get our revenge.
mymTw.com: Fnatic has chosen de_nuke as their map for the
finals. Many people said it is your worst map, because in the whole
tournament you just lost there. At the very end you destroyed fnatic on
nuke. Is there even any map which you don't like to play on?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
We removed dust2 in all our group stage matches, but that's not because
we don't like to play on it. We just had to remove a map each time and
we choose to remove dust2 at the beginning and we just kept doing that.
All in all I would say there is no map I wouldn't like to play.
mymTw.com: The audience really enjoyed seeing mTw
matches. You got a lot support and they mostly cheered for every frag
you and your teammates made. Any idea why the Russian fans liked mTw
that much?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
Hmm, I don't know actually. I think we were good at cheering before the
match and in the match so maybe that's why... and the fact that we
played all the playoffs matches on the stage maybe made us the crowds
favorite team :D
mymTw.com: The only German team, mousesports, got eliminated in
the group stage. We have seen movies where you and the rest of the team
were watching matches of your opponents. Did you prefer HellRaisers as
your first opponent in the playoffs rather than mousesports or Roccat?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
As a man I would say we would have to meet mouz first and then roccat,
but in reality we defiantly wanted to meet Hellraisers because I think
they were the least experienced team of those three and the fact that
we played them on stage maybe did a difference because they aren't used
to it. We know how to play on stage; we did that at WCG and ESWC for
example.
mymTw.com: Do you prefer playing in separated game rooms or rather on stage?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
It really depends on who you are meeting, if we were to meet a Russian
team I'd prefer to play the match in a game room, if not I prefer the
stage, it is always cooler to play on a big stage with people shouting
and cheering for you
mymTw.com: What will you do with your part of the prize money? Any plans yet?
mTw.AMD|MJE: No not really, I have everything I need right now...I guess
mymTw.com: I guess Lars is giving you everything you want haha. Can you describe your relation with Lars as your Boss in mTw?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
Lars is a really great guy and we really like him, if we have problems
we can just talk to him and he will help us no matter what. For example
he drove all the way from Germany to Copenhagen to give us our new
shirts and then drove all the way back again. He really loves the team
and we just couldn't have a better boss :D
mymTw.com: Right after the match against fnatic you joined them to
drink beer and have fun. Fair sportsmanship or how comes you get along
with them so good?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
fnatic are great guys and that they recovered so fast from the loss
proofed it. We always have a fun time after games are done. And it's
really important that you not only focus on the game after it's all
over but also have some fun with your team mates and opponents.
mymTw.com: Moscow is famous for its parties and night clubs. What did you guys do on Sunday evening?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
Later on we talked with some Russian players and we arranged to go
party in some club downtown. It was great and we had lots of fun.
mymTw.com: We have all seen the mTw team presentation movies. Do
you guys really drink as much as Red bull as this "flat" offers? We
have seen Red bull on a lot of pictures this weekend.
mTw.AMD|MJE:
It's always good to drink much red bull before and in the game I think,
just so you don't get tired and lose your reflexes, but yeah we drank a
lot of red bull at KODE5 :D
mymTw.com: Whimp joined mTw in order to replace hpx but he is a
completely different player. Were there any major changes in your style
of playing and your tactics as he joined along?
mTw.AMD|MJE: Our playing style has changed a little bit, we are more loose now. But no, we had no major changes in our style at all.
mymTw.com: Your little Brother Aje was playing with his very own
team at Slap.dk, even though he is pretty young. That's really hard to
imagine for teenagers in Germany. Do you think it's ok to play games
like Counter-Strike or Shooters in general at a very young age?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
I really don't see a problem with it. People who get insane and stuff
of playing computer-games are just insane and it has nothing to do with
the game but with the person only. I mean if that would be the case you
couldn't see an action movie either? I personally think the whole
discussion about this is funny.
mymTw.com: Is your family supporting you in your job as a fulltime gamer?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
My family is always very supportive, as long as my job didn't affect my
school while I was still going to school. Right now I'm taking a year
off so I can focus 100% on gaming. I can certainly say I got their full
support. In their eyes it's also great that i get the chance to visit
so much different places on the world with mTw.AMD. Also my parents
accept my fulltime gaming as a real job and with that it's easier for
them to understand and support me.
mymTw.com: Zonic got interviewed by readmore and he said
something about your future plans. In detail he said, that both of you
will go back to school after this summer. Are you bored with gaming?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
If you are disciplined enough and if you got the right attitude you can
do both, school and gaming. I really love to play Counter-Stike, but I
also want an education for my later life, so if I work hard enough I
will be able to do both. I don't think it will affect our game or our
training at all. I was doing the same thing last year and we managed to
reach the finals of WCG and ESWC.
mymTw.com: The Finals of the German Pro Series will take
place soon. Could you imagine moving to Germany with your team and play
one season of the Pro Series?
mTw.AMD|MJE:
It would be pretty cool to move to Germany and play the Pro Series.
Many good teams play there and they compete for a lot of prize money.
But i think it is really unrealistic for us at this point, we don't
talk german at all and we don't want to move away from our families and
friends. Why don't you tell the German teams to move to Denmark and
play the danish Pro Series with us.
mymTw.com: Thanks for that great interview. Let's all hope you guys
will win the Dansk Esport League next weekend and we meet again in the
next Interview. You get the last words.
mTw.AMD|MJE: I
want to thank all our fans for their great support during the KODE5 and
also thanks to our Sponsors AMD, ATi, Foxconn, Esport-Poker.com,
Speed-Link, Scythe, Aeneon and gamed.de.
