After a successful event...
WCG: mTw.int on top !
Directly after the hard weeks with tournaments in Los Angeles, Ballerup in Denmark, Dubai and Hangzhou in China, where the World eSport Masters took place, our very own danish players around manager guddo went to Cologne to play the "Olympic Games of Esports", the World Cyber Games. But they were not the only ones from mTw.AMD who came to Germany to fight for the world champion title.
Next to them mTw.AMD|HoRRoR, our StarCraft:Broodwar player, and mTw.AMD|WhO had the chance to struggle for victory and a lot of prizemoney.
At the end the event was not the best for us. HoRRoR had to leave the tournament after the first round of the playoffs. Even worse was the event for the South Korean WarCraft III player WhO, who did not make it through the groupstage.
But as we have mentioned before, the international Counter-Strike team qualified for Cologne, too. They played an outstanding tournament, beating the German powerhouse ALTERNATE aTTaX in the groupstage and kicking them out of the tournament. As we have beaten the frenchmen of eSport-eu in the first round of the finals with a clear 2-0, the first big opponent waited for us, namely MYM.
The Polish guys around Neo did not even have a chance and so we managed to reach the semi-finals, where the most surprising team of the tournament waited for us. The Norwegians, CBTeam / XpreZ with their starplayer elemeNt, where the first to win a map against us. It was a close game with the better end for mTw.AMD.
In the final we had to face off with the Swedish team of SK-Gaming. The first map to be played was de_dust2, not the best map of our players but we won the map because of a strong CT-side with 16-10. The next map was de_tuscan, a rebuild of the legendary map cpl_mill and SK was able to beat us with a close 16-14. So we had to play the deciding map, de_train. Formerly one of the best maps of mTw we were able to beat SK with a clear 16-04 and go home with 50.000 USD.
