IEM5 World Championship - Tag 3

Frag eXecutors sent fnatic home from IEM5 World Championship after taking de_dust2 (16-13) and de_nuke (16-10).
First map was de_dust2 where Frag eXecutors started as CT and were able to take the first round from fnatic after defusing the bomb planted in B site and a nice play by Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński picking up four frags. The next four rounds went to Frag eXecutors aswell, as each round lost by fnatic forced them to save money.
Frag eXecutors changed their strategy and moved for two AWP'ers which helped them to gain another two important rounds. Somehow, fnatic came back and managed to win three rounds in a row, but Frag eXecutors responded to this and got their eighth and ninth rounds back. Last two pieces went to fnatic too, but at the half time Frag eXecutors led the game with the score of 9-6.
In the second half, Frag eXecutors made a B push in the first round but they were stopped by fnatic who managed to win two more rounds to equalize the match on 9 rounds. Still, Frag eXecutors regained the lead but fnatic managed to win three rounds in a row and to be up 13-10. With fnatic being in a difficult situation, Frag eXecutors called a timeout and after that they picked up the pace, turning the score back in their favor and finally managed to win the map with the score of 16-13 after some nice final rounds played by Filip "Neo" Kubski.

The second map was de_nuke where fnatic managed to win the knife round and started as CT. They started very well by wining the pistol round but, after this, we saw some crazy rounds where both teams eco'd each other constantly. At the score of 7-7, fnatic somehow managed to win the final round and took the lead at half-time with the score of 8-7.
Second half was a disaster for fnatic, as Filip "Neo" Kubski managed to ace the opponents from the ramp room. Frag eXecutors spoted this bad moment from fnatic and started to build a nice lead by wining some few rounds, so the score went 11-8 for them. Next rounds was all about money control system with Frag eXecutors coming on top once again and finally won the match with the score of 16-10.
Frag eXecutors will now face SK Gaming tomorrow in the semi-finals.

Na'Vi got the second spot for the semi-finals after beating compLexity on de_dust2 (16-10) and on de_train (16-5).

compLexity started as CT on de_dust2 and lost the pistol round against Na'Vi, a result which got a negative effect on the team, after they lost some of the upcoming rounds. The fourth round was an AWP battle between Yegor “markeloff” Markelov and Gabriel “Fallen” Toledo with markeloff taking the first four or five battles in the middle. Finally, Na'Vi managed to win most of the rounds and took a beag lead at the half time.
In the second half, Na'Vi had a bad start since they lost the pistol round and the following two rounds. Gabriel “Fallen” Toledo started to take control of the AWP battle and he dictated who was wining the rounds and this led compLexity to a big advantage which got 14-10 at one stage. Na'Vi responded with an aggressive play in B tunnel and this seemed to change the chemistry of compLexity’s timed pushes. Na’Vi was able to lock it down and finish them off 16-10.

Na'Vi started on de_train with a big confidence, as they managed to win the pistol round agains compLexity and the next six rounds too. On the other side, compLexity played really bad and they only managed to take 2 rounds, a result that boosted Na'Vi confidence even more, as the final score at half time was 13-2.
In the second half, Na'Vi were able to take the all important pistol round, and as expected Markeloff rushed straight for the AWP looking to close the game out. To their credit compLexity did manage to pick up a few gun rounds, but it wasn’t enough. Na’Vi quickly finished the match 16-5.
Na’Vi will now face mTw in the other semi-final to be played tomorrow.
