mymTw.de Hi Fatal1ty, you don't really need to introduce yourself seeing as you are one of the most known people in the world of E-Sport. What was the main reason for you switching from UT, an Ego-Shooter, to CS, a Tactical-Shooter, and will you be sticking with CS for the time being?

Fatal1ty: Well, all the main competitions were turning to CS, and I found myself not competing in many 1v1's because there is just no tournaments for them right now. The only reason why I ever leave a game is because there are no more tournaments for them, not because the competition is getting to tough. If Quake 3 still had tournaments all year long for big amounts of prizes, I would never stop playing Quake 3 as I think its probably one of the best games ever.

mymTw.de Before you created iFate, you were in Forsaken. What made you decide to leave Forsaken and form a new team?

Fatal1ty: Well, Forsaken promised me playing time at CPL and I proved myself the whole time before the event that I was ready to play, but Funk didn't want me to play because he felt if I played then it would show that I'm already better than him and I've only played the game seriously for like the last 3-4 months when he's been playing it for the last 3 or 4 years. The rest of the guys on the team wanted me to play, but Funk was the leader and said no. So after I didn't play one single match at CPL, I decided to leave the team and create my own team and prove that I was ready to compete in CS. We then went to CXG where the tournament flopped, but we still got to do a grudge match against Forsaken where we took them down 16-5 on de_inferno. Everyone on my team felt for me and understood what the match meant to me. Going to a CPL where I'm suppose to play and getting benched the whole time was just wrong, and getting this grudge match against them was all I wanted. We played flawlessly and I really thank the guys who played with me there at that event. (amic, destrukt, icesalmon, & pointblank)

mymTw.de From various videos we see that you have a stuffed animal tiger that brings you luck. Do you have any other traditions and how do you prepare yourself before a big event.

Fatal1ty: I typically listen to music before every match to get me focused. I want to make sure everything is perfect, with my settings, controls and mouse pad, and then just play my game.

mymTw.de Your first big event was the Cyber X Games, which evolved into a giant chaos. However, you did win your Show match versus Forsaken and take home $10,000. Was it a big deal for you to win against your old team and were you happy with iFate's effort during the match?

Fatal1ty: Of course I was extremely happy and thrilled. It meant a lot to me and just doing that alone has secured my CS dignity. It proves that I was ready to play at a very high level of CS and I was just waiting for the chance to prove myself.

mymTw.de Do you believe your team has the capability to knock 3D off the top of the American Throne and become the figurehead in the American scene?

Fatal1ty: Right now iFate is going through a lot of changes, but 3D is definitely an awesome team. We scrimmed them several times and did very good against them, but we have never met in competition, so until then nothing matters. Practice is Practice.

mymTw.de What do you think your chances are to beat some of the Top teams at the next big event! ?

Fatal1ty: Right now we'll just have to wait and see what kind of lineup we get or where we plan to go. There is a lot of speculation going on at the moment, and hopefully find out more news here very soon.

mymTw.de And lastly, I'd like to get your take on some of the new Shooters like PainKiller and UT2k4. What do you think of them and in your opinion which one is better?

Fatal1ty: I think ut2k4 will be the better game, but PainKiller did look cool. We'll have to wait and see where things go and go from there.

mymTw.de Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Do you have any last shootouts or comments?

Fatal1ty: Thanks for the interview and best of luck to all you guys in Europe. Hopefully I'll be out there for an event coming up soon. Keep on Gaming!
