very good interview... thumbs up
The team clears out the rumours! Plans and goals for the next month!
mJe and the team interviewed
The rest of the team
After the last few days and weeks there were many rumours about our danish team. To clear out one big rumour and to answer some questions we gathered from our fans, we grabed zonic, Sunde and ave. And Martin 'trace' Heldt will also share some words, he is joined the team of mTw two weeks ago and will give us some insight about the first couple of days with the guys.
mymTw: There are a lot of rumours in the community right now, the most discussed one is that the team will soon split up completely, what do you guys have to say about that?
Alexander 'ave' Holdt: I don't see why there would be rumours about that. We still have a 3-man-core that dates over 2 years back. It's sad we lost whimp and mJe, but I still believe we have a lot of the same qualities left because of our core group. And mJe will be back in the roster after WCG, so we're not breaking up, no.
Martin 'trace' Heldt: Not much to say really, just another rumour. We're not going to split up, unless everyone decides to go all in on school like mJE! But I doubt that will happen!
Danny 'zonic' Sørensen: There is nothing going to happen with mTw.int what so ever. whiMp and mJe leaving us is because they started university this summer. And for them to stepping back and us getting new players just means that we aren't done here yet. We have extremely high goals with this new lineup. Trace and minet are talented players and you'll see that in the future.
Christoffer 'Sunde' Sunde: There is no reason to believe that the team will split up, and I honestly can't understand why anyone would think that. People should consider our roster changes as new energy to the team. Obviously it's sad to say goodbye to MJE and whimp, but we will practise hard with the new line up to make it as good as the old one, even better! And as ave said, mJe is not completely gone.
mymTw: The WCG qualifier will be your first offline event as a team, after that SLAP follows. What are your hopes for those events, what will you try to work out the most at those LAN events?
'zonic': I see SLAP as the battle of Denmark once again. There have been many roster changes in the country since we approached trace and minet. Other than that I see SLAP as an important event, but I must admit it is nothing compared to WCG, so it is also an upwarming for us to WCG (hopefully we will qualify!)
'Sunde': The WCG qualifier is our highest priority at the moment and we really want to prove ourselves as the best team in Denmark. We are currently playing as much as possible to make sure our two new players will feel more comfortable with our playstyle and our tactics.
'ave': It's probably the top4 of Denmark gathered at the WCG Qual, so we have to play good and solid in order to qualify. We only had one week of practice with minet, but he seems to pick up our stuff quickly so hopefully we won't make too many mistakes and come out victorious!
'Sunde': We have a lot of stuff to work on with SLAP coming up. It's always exciting to play with a new line up, to see how well we will perform and to get a feel about the team as a whole. SLAP is gonna be our first real LAN tournament with the team and we will hopefully learn a lot playing together. If we win the WCG qualifier SLAP will also work as preparation for WCG in Chengdu.
mymTw: ave, after the first few training sessions, do you already have plans for new tactics for the upcoming events or will the team stick to those you already used in the past?
'ave': As usual, it's a mix of new stuff and old stuff. The two new guys have been great at helping out with new inputs, so it's been very pleasant to work with them in that way.
mymTw: Can we expect to see trace at positions mJe played, and minet on some of whimps positions?
'ave': Yes, it's probably how we'll work it out. Some CT positions like ramp on nuke will go to minet since he's played there for awhile, and it's a solo-spot most of the time. Actually we changed quite abit, mostly as T, to make our positions play to our strengths more.
mymTw: trace: How did you like the first sessions with ave, zonic and sunde? Did you already learn something from those "old men"?
trace
mymTw: zonic, what do you think will be something your new teammates have, that will help you to surprise your opponents?
'zonic': They don't know trace and minet the way they knew whimp and mJe. We have played together for a long time and now we got two new players, and they have no chance of knowing how their playing style is.
mymTw: Guddo left the team of mTw some weeks ago as well. How is it without a manager on your side, many people even think Pro-Gamer are very dependent on somebody who manages their appointments, flights and stuff?
'zonic': guddo was the best manager you could get and I can't thank him enough for what he has done, especially for me, taking care of everything since I played with him in Asylum (2005). So for me personally it is a big loss, but lately he hasn't been doing the job he was hired for, but that had only little to do with him, simply because there is not much left for him to do.
'ave': We'll miss him at our trips for sure, but I believe we can work it our on our own. All of us are grown up and can take responsibility.
'Sunde': We had a lot of fun and good times with guddo, and I am gonna miss having him around and all the fun we had together - But we are big boys and we know how to get around and can take care of ourselves when we're out travelling the globe. We will do just fine without him.
mymTw: Did things change a lot since he went away, do you guys have to do more "work" than before?
'ave': Yeah, there's some stuff like responding to emails and stuff. But most of it will come when we're at tournaments I guess.
'zonic': No as I said before, there was nothing really there for him. Before he had so much work to do because we needed his work to talk with events etc., but now we see 2-3 major events a year and we got everything we need at mTw, so it is a perfect time for him to step down and start a new chapter in his life.
'Sunde': We haven't been outside Denmark since his departure, so we don't really feel it yet, most often he took care of us when we were out and about, so I have to wait and see untill our next international tournament. But I'm not afraid of that, with Lars Eiben everything worked fine in the last years and so I don't think that we will not get a flight or a hotel for some tournament. mTw will take care of that, no question.
mymTw: zonic How hard is it to regain the power in the trainings with trace and minet, how much do they have to learn about your playstyle and your tactics?
'zonic': I think they know our gaming style pretty well actually. I mean that has been their goal for the past two years to beat us (laughs). So I think they know it more than you know, however there are a few things we need to adjust since it is 40% of the team that has been changed. They have been giving a chance to come with their inputs and some of it we can use to mix with our own. Especially some flashes and small setups here and there (smiles)
mymTw: trace, you've been in the team for nearly two weeks now, how is it to be a member of mTw? Already got some groupies?
'trace': It feels great to be a member of mTw. I am already having a lot of fun, and hopefully I will continue with that. It is really nice to play with such a strong team, and I am looking forward to us being even stronger in the future, with our young talent minet. But no, no changes yet concerning the groupies!
mymTw: Sunde, In an interview with fragster 'ave' told the community, that the other teams are more aware of your AWP. Do you think about that when you play? Do you already have plans to change some positions or your playstyle?
'Sunde': It is a thing we have talked about, and I am taking that into consideration when I play - We are probably gonna have a bit different playstyle from now on, but I won't reveal more for now.
mymTw: So you're not afraid that everyone will now how you play?
'Sunde': No I'm not afraid of it, I'd rather say that I'm aware of it and will try and use it to my advantage.
mymTw: Ok guys thanks you for your time, any last words?
'ave': Okay, cya (laughs), cheers go out for our fans and to Lars, thanks to our partners and sponsors for their support!
'zonic': Just wanna thank everybody who supports us! Means everything. And for those who are thinking about us splitting up I can only say one thing: Sunde, ave and I wouldn't continue playing if we didn't believe in this project
'trace': No problem. I would like to thank all our fans who still believe in us, and give minet a chance, he will for sure become a very strong player! See you all!
'Sunde': Sure, I appreciate all of the fans sticking with us, waiting this out to see how we will perform in the future. <3 all (hej hunden)
*update*
Since we got ask a lot if minet will be replaced by mJe after WCG we'll just give a short notice from mymTw.com:
mJe and whimp still have contracts with mTw but will focus more on their school career. Because of that the team will participate at all tournaments with the following lineup: ave, zonic, sunde, trace and minet. whimp and mJe will be standins if needed ant won't leave mTw for any other teams. With those two players we will have the strongest substitutes bench in the world.
We are sorry if we created some missunderstanding with the interviews and thank you for your understanding.
