In some weeks the World Cyber Games 2009 will open it's gates in
Chengdu and of course our international CounterStrike 1.6 Team will be
there. Today, just one day after the final of the SLAP Live #19 were
our gus were able to win, the organisation of the WCG announced the
groups for CouterStrike! Take a look here, if you want to know in which group our team has to play and against whom.
This morning the Organisation behind the World Cyber Games announced the groups. They drawed them in the Headquarter which is located in Seoul. Next to the groups of Wise Star 2 and Asphalt 4 they announced the groups for CounterStrike 1.6. Our danish team will be in Chengdu too and they will have the next chance to show the international scene that they are back in business with their new lineup. The Finals will be held from 11.11.2009 to 15.11.2009.
The group of death will be Group B with fnatic, FireGamers and wNv. Our team got one of the hardest groups too. With Virtus.pro and the finnish team Power Gaming they have to fight against two strong opponents. The only german team mousesports got a hard group too.
Our Team-Captain
zonic gave as a short statement about the group:
"We are in a tough group this year compared to the other groups. However I do believe we have a great change of going into the playoffs and everything else would be dissapointing. There are good teams in our group and we are definately not the favorite to win WCG since no one never won WCG two times in a row.
I believe with lots of practice we can do great and we will do whatever we can to defend our title from last year. We will bootcamp at my place one week before WCG, where you guys can see pictures, interviews, guides, blogs and much more before WCG, so stay tuned and thank you all for the great support! <3"
