SIEG SIEG SIEG!!! ach is das schön!
DreamHack Summer 2010
The Danes are victorious in Sweden
After a strong group stage, in which the players of mTw.Mindfactory did not loose one match, they went on to the quarter finals against Fair Frag. The first map to play was de_train and mTw started hot and was able to get 10 wins on CT side. After the switch to T they didn't let Fair Frag get into the game and gathered the six needed rounds very fast. The second map in that quarter finals was choosen to be dust2 and this would be a lot closer than expected.
Starting as CT again, the team around Danny 'zonic' Sørensen was able to grab 9 rounds and with that allowed 6 rounds for the Terrorists. The T side had to decide if mTw.int would advance or if there would be a third map. After 13 of 15 available rounds our team was finally able to get the last needed round and won the map with 16:11.
Semi finals here we come! This time the opponent was SK-Gaming, no unknown for our team, and everybody expected that match to be a close one. For the semi finals the maps were choosen to be dust2 and de_nuke. After that close match against Fair Frag on dust2 people really thought it could get worse against the strong team of SK. But they were told better. With a real strong effort the Danes rushed into the game and were able to get 10 T wins, change sides, and then take the needed 6 rounds in a 10 round side. Very impressive!
The second map came on and again SK Gaming was expected to fight back. But again fans of mTw.Mindfactory were pleased, with two strong halfs, not allowing SK-Gaming to get into the match, our team was able to win the semi finals with an impressive 16:5!
What a great tournament our players had so far, and then the finals came. When we look back at the DreamHack Winter, in which mTw.int was also able to reach the last round, you could really see the improvement of the schedule. While the Winter finals were played late at night, around 1 or 2 A.M. (!!!), the Summer finals did start at 8 P.M.
With the loss of the finals earlier this year in mind, our players prepared to get things done this time around. The opponent was the team of h2k which our guys were already able to beat in the group stage. The choosen maps were de_train and de_dust2, two maps our danish players were able to dominate throughout the tournament.
Starting as CT on train, mTw did not allow more than 5 rounds for h2k. Knowing they would need 6 more rounds to win this map, they started T very focused. And after 12 rounds they had done it, the final round was won, 16:11 for our team on de_train.
Next map dust2 and again starting as CT: This time h2k showed some strong moves and at half mTw was behind by one round 7:8. Nine rounds and we would be the winners, 8 for h2k and there would be a third map. But no thoughts of loosing or not beeing strong. The second half started and the Danes showed why they reached the final round. With a mesmerizing T round they rushed over h2k only allowing 3 rounds and winning the last 9 needed rounds. Win! With 16:11 and 16:11 mTw.Mindfactory wins the DreamHack Summer not loosing one map in the playoff stage!
Next to mTw.int a player of our team also won a price: The Most Valuable Player of DreamHack Summer 2010! Who that would be? Right it just has to be Danny 'zonic' Sørensen! Congratz to zonic for that achievment!
The guys of rakaka.se made an Interview with Alexander 'ave' Holdt at DreamHack Summer 2010. And yesterday we already told you about the Interview of Oliver Ari 'Minet' Minet which the guys of HLTV.org did.
