Interview with Tak3r
SC2-inside.com is online!
SC2-inside.com will not be a common community page. With a great staff, lead by Christopher 'Tak3r' Heil,
they want to present a page which not only delivers the newest info to the scene, but present nice and exciting replays, the most interessting videos on demand and some awesome livestreams. The staff has decided to put out almost the whole content in english, so that they can reach a greater basis of user.
And not only the exclusive content is something only SC2 can offer. With their Play the Pro Section players will get the chance to improve their Starcraft skills. Now everyone can get a mentor for his race, talk with him about Starcraft, tactics, matches, ideas and training schedules. You can also play the Pro and push yourself to another level.
Of course it is also important to support your community, but sometimes a push in the right direction is also necessary. At Sc2-inside.com you can "level" your profile. With a variety of leagues and userrankings the community will want to take part at discussions in the forum or the comments. And with monthly handed out prices as a reward for said activity there will be a strong base of Starcraft fans and a nice community page will be on it's way.
But you have to see that there is a lot of work to be done to acomplish all that, so you can say that the page still is a work in progress. The staff is a little small too, but anyone who is interested in an editorial or moderator job should take a look here because help is always wanted and needed.
For the start of the page we got ourself the mastermind behind that project for an interview, so here are some question and answers with Tak3r.

Christopher 'Tak3r' Heil: Hi! Well the idea was built by Lars and me about 5 month ago, we wanted to create an indipendent SC2 label to built a spot in the market early on, so I showed Lars a concept of what I had in mind and that was then developed with and by the webmaster Robert. There were several more ideas and I think the result is something you have to be satisfied with.
mymTw: The page looks pretty complete, but you guys already mentioned, that it is still a "work in progress". What changes will we see next?
'Tak3r': Yes the site is not completely finished - there are some things we have to change at the already existing sections, eg. we will have more player at the Play-the-Pro page available and there will be some sorting and filtering options included. And we will continue to work on all aspects of the page and we will have some new features and specials in the future, I won't get out of ideas so fast (laughs)
mymTw: You decided to do the page and most of the content in english, how did you decide that? With a german staff it would have been a lot easier to create a german page, does that show how ambitious you are for that page?
'Tak3r': Well I wanted to do everything in english since I think that this page deserves a bigger audience and some core aspects are made for bigger audiences anyway. Play-the-Pro would not work in a german only area for example. The german staff is only the foundation on which we now build on - mostly with people who are english native speakers.
mymTw: Which attributes you should bring along if you want to be an editorial member or a moderator to help and work with the page? Are there more areas in which you can apply for?
'Tak3r': You should be top motivated and speak and write english perfectlym that is good for all areas. Organizing good shoutcasters will be a tough thing for now since we can't pay off the work. The two areas at the We Want You page are matching what we are searching for. Good shoutcasters for the VODs on the one side, and some dependent employees for the work behind the scenes, who will create news, upload replays and create matches.
mymTw: To complete the page to this point on did take you some time and work, did you get the chance to play some Starcraft II the last couple of days? Could you play the campaign and did you like it?
'Tak3r': Yes the page launch really took some time. That plus my real job got me some 16-18 hours days (smiles). Unfortunately I couldn't play SC2 at all so far and I will play the campaign in some month when things are a little cooled down and our team has grown.
mymTw: The Play-the-Pro feature will be one of the highlights of the page for sure, can you reveal some more names? Will there be some training hours with you as well?
'Tak3r': Yeah I'm a little proud of Play-the-Pro, I got some requests for trainings but I never had the motivation to do that in a good way with a homepage and everything. I hope that it will be something the players like and that we do not have to close it too soon (smiles). But first the page has to get some visitors since I think that only 2-5% of the users will really book a training. If there will be some trainings with me is something I have to think about. I had to qualifiy for the EPS first and that will already be some hard work. Without any success I will not find that many customers but if there are some requests and I have the time I would do that yeah (smiles).
mymTw: The userranking system sounds pretty interesting aswell, can you tell us something about the prices you will give away or is that still top secret?
'Tak3r': We will give out a hardware price every month for one user, like headsets, mouse etc, and on top there maybe some free training hours with the Play-the-Pro gamers. There will be a news up in the next days with some more info!
mymTw: Which kind of feedback do you hope for from the community, or which anticipations do you have for the page?
'Tak3r': I'm hoping that the users really feel comfortable at our site and that they will actively create something together with us. For that there will be the possibility to create Userblogs in the near future and some similar things. I too hope that the users are satisfied with the design of the page - for me it was really important that you can see everything with one look. I think we did that pretty well!
mymTw: Your staff member and you are well known in the scene, will you guys be seen adding something to discussions on the forum or the comments?
'Tak3r': Well you see me a lot in the forums and the comments you just have to look at the userranking (grins). I hope the rest of the staff will be the same way but I won't push them, I'm pretty happy when they're delivering some nice VODs (laughs).
mymTw: Then we thank you for that short interview and of course we want to tell our users that they really should take a look at www.sc2-inside.com. Do you have any last words for the mymTw community?
'Tak3r': No problems and some cheers for the mymTw users. I want to say goodbye the way our old korean teammate did: [18:21:40 ] [ mTw|Rainbow ] for the mTw!! And I want to thank our sponsors Sennheiser, OCZ Technology, mySN and Kaspersky, with their help we were able to built a top team with players like DIMAGA and DeMusliM for mTw.SC2.
