Dallas, cyx and the SEC

zonic about the last weeks
Hey mTw fans!
As you know we haven’t been active lately since our
trip to Dallas back in July. However we started playing again last week,
and it was time to finish off the EPS Nordic league and the SEC Online
qualifier as well.
When I got back from Dallas I went to my hometown
to have some vacation with my family and to celebrate my 24th
birthday. Unfortunately I am becoming one of the old dogs in the scene,
even though I feel young, strong and am hungry for trophies!
The others went home as well, and minet stayed at the Airport because he had to catch up with his family in Venice, Italy.
A
week later we started up again playing for our upcoming event the EPS
Nordic. At the 29th I woke up and the phone was ringing. I picked it up
and it was the Danish WCG arranger who was going to talk to me about the
ENC finals and the WCG qualifier being at the same time. While I was
talking to him I started up my computer, and quickly went to HLTV.org
where I found some disturbing headlines.
I discovered that a great
colleague has passed away, and I was absolutely stunned and had to hang
up the phone. I read the news over and over again, and I couldn’t
believe that Toni “cyx” Daniloski has passed away. I mean I saw this guy
one week before in Dallas where we said hallo to each other.
My
thoughts go to Toni’s family, girlfriend and last but definitely not
least, his teammates. I couldn’t imagine being in their situation losing
a friend and teammate, and I wouldn’t even home it happened to my
greatest enemy.
To put focus away on this tragedy, our first game in
the EPS Nordic finals was against SK-Gaming. SK is in a bad period
with players leaving and on vacation, so I expected nothing less than a
win against them.
Fnatic easily won against H2k and it was our turn
to face them, who we haven’t met for a very long time as far as I
remember. We started out on nuke and I felt we played our CT side up to
perfection. We had them under control the entire side and 11 rounds
against a team that just won 2 major events in a row, made me a proud
Team Captain.
We won nuke and it was time to play dust2 which went
well for us even though we only played 7 rounds. DDOS attacks have
become a way for youngsters to get ahead on the scene. They use mafia
methods to get people into their channel, by threatening them to join
their channel or they will get DDOSed.
I don’t think they know what
serious damage they are doing to the scene. I can assure you all that
sponsors from mTw are following our matches, because it is not just a
battle between mTw and fnatic, but also a battle between, e.g.,
Sennheiser and Steelseries when these two teams face each other. I
strongly advice these people to find something else to do, because in
some way or another we will stop it, and it is simply destroying all the
work all of us has done over the past many years now.
The match was
obviously postponed till next month if I remember correctly, since
fnatic is in Korea right now for the eStars Seoul competition.
SEC
is just around the corner, and I believe that will be our next event
with the mTw squad. We won our group and I must admit we didn’t have any
threatening teams to us except for Alternate who always plays well
against us.
We won the match 18-12 and finished 1st in our group.
Finishing first hopefully means we will get a 2nd placed team from
another group, which means SK and Frag Executors are out of the picture.
These two teams will definitely be our toughest opponents in this
tournament!
And guys...Today there is a nice powerup coming to you which will increase your skill for sure ;)
Take care!
