IEM5 World Championship - Day 4
Sadly, fnatic and compLexity went back home yesterday after they lost against Frag eXecutors and Na'Vi by showing a very weak gameplay. Now, the winners from day three will face in the semi-finals two teams with strong determination and good tactics: mTw and SK Gaming. It's really hard to make some prediction at the moment, but we can only hope that our team will win the event. It will be a very hard match for mTw against Na'Vi, if we are to take a closer look at the results from the past, but let's just jump over that for now. The four semi-finalists will have the following line-ups:
Again, the winner will be decided based on BO3 rule (best of three). At 9:10 CET, SK Gaming will face Frag eXecutors, followed by mTw vs. Na'Vi at 11:45 CET via ESL Stream.

As we figured out, things went kindly bad for our team today, after we lost against Na'Vi with the score of 2-1. It seems that the "horror from the past" won't stop here. Beside that, this is what we saw today:

Taking a closer look at SK-Gaming, they have a better chance for
advancing into the finals in their match against Ftag eXecutors, where
the duo f0rest-GeT_RiGhT could make a big surprize, followed closer by
their new dennis which actually played a lot better than we all
expected. On the other side, Frag eXecutors with Filip "Neo" Kubski
experience can also turn the things back in their favour, but only if
the rest of the team will help him too.
Na'Vi, the "horror from the past" of our great team got their chance too, but let's hope that someone will broke markellof's AWP loop before the game. After we saw Na'Vi games from past 2 days, mTw are clearly the favourite team to go through as zonic and trace allways got a good cover from the rest of the team. With such a good gameplay showed by mTw in day 2 of the event, we are really confident that they can go into the finals.

After a good gameplay and some bit of luck, Na'Vi defeated mTw with the score of two maps to one and now will face Frag eXecutors in the final of IEM5 World Championship.

mTw had a bad start on de_train as terrorists by loosing the pistol round and the following money rounds. The first real test for Na'Vi would come in the first gun rounds, which they somehow managed to win and got a nice 4-0 lead. As the things were looking quiet bad for our team, mTw quickly replied to this by taking control of the mid game and the money system, and Na'Vi were forced to make some eco's for a few times. In the next rounds, theams were fighting head to head and the half ended with Na'Vi taking a slender lead of 9-6 as counter-terrorists.
In the second half, Na'Vi managed to claim the pistol round again after a clever inside plant, followed by some very calm and controled pair of rounds. On their hunger for victory, mTw managed to pick up the first gun round after a very good gameplay showed by Martin 'trace' Heldt. Like in the first half, mTw took again a slight lead of 4-3 after seven rounds, but Ioann 'Edward' Sukhariev was able to win two unlikely rounds and gave Na’Vi the momentum they needed, pushing ahead to take the first map 16-12.

Starting off as a counter-terrorists, mTw were able to pick up the pistol round and the next couple of rounds. Na’Vi hit back taking the first gun round and piled on a few more rounds. With the tight score of 4-4 at the eight round, mTw pushed it to the max and picked up six of the last seven rounds which gave them a nice lead of 10-5 at the half time.
Full of confidence, mTw managed to claim again the pistol round and the next couple of rounds. At the score of 15-5, mTw claimed the victory of the second map, as Na'Vi failed to take the needed rounds for a win. Anyway, Na’Vi nearly gave mTw a real scare but fell short in the dying few rounds, as mTw won the map with the final score of 16-11.

Na’Vi began the third and final map as terrorists on de_tuscan. As an hidden 'rule', whoever manages to win the pistol round will win the half too, as it happened for Na'Vi as they claimed the first round in their favour, followed by eight wins in a row. However, mTw broke the ice in the 9th round and got on to board as they managed to get the next two rounds. Next was Na'Vi to claim the upcoming round and canceled mTw's money bonus. In the end of the first half, same crazy Na'Vi finished with a big 12-3 lead.
In the second half, mTw tried to give the best out there but it proved too difficult to cover the big enemies lead from the first half. By raping the pistol round from mTw, Na'Vi crushed the morale of our team, as the game showed it in the next rounds. Just when the map looked over and Na’Vi would run away it, mTw hit back and really put pressure on Na’Vi’s money with only four rounds to go and the scores at 15-11. Despite mTw efforts, Na'Vi managed to take the needed round and finally won the match with the score of 16-12.

Frag eXecutors were the first finalists of the day at IEM5 World Championship after they won against SK Gaming stars with the map score of 2-1.

On de_train, Frag eXecutors started up on the stronger defensive side and they managed to pick up the first four rounds before seeing SK do something with their guns in the fifth round. After a good gameplay showed by Polish team, the score went to a crazy 9-1 lead in their favour, and despite SK Gaming trying to recover, all they did was to get three more rounds and finished with a nice 11-4 lead at the half-time.
In the second half, Frag eXecutors showed some good coordination in the pistol round, and after a lot of kills from both sides, a 1-on-2 situation was something SK Gaming couldn't handle. The second round was claimed by Frag eXecutors after SK Gaming famas strategy failed in front of Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski which managed to clear the way with his AWP.
With Frag eXecutors needing only two rounds to win the map, it was expected that they would go all the way, but some good deagle and gun work by SK Gaming set them back into the game. Two more rounds bagged by SK Gaming forced Frag eXecutors to call a timeout, but it would take three more rounds before the Poles could react, as they won the map 16-10.

On de_nuke, SK Gaming had to start on the offensive side and did a great job with rushes at the ramps. Frag eXecutors responded and almost equalized right after when they tried to pick up the plant made by SK Gaming, but TaZ missed it just by an inch. The Swedes were cruising all over the map, breaking down Frag eXecutors defensive setup every time, until the eighth round when they managed to pick up four rounds in a row, and, despite SK Gaming adding one more round to their tally, Frag eXecutors took the lead at the half time with the score of 8-7.
In the second halg, f0rest picked up four frags in both the first and third rounds and boosted SK Gaming into a big lead. With almost six rounds in their bag, Frag eXecutors seemed to be closer to a victory but it wasn't enough to stop SK Gaming wining streak. However, SK Gaming managed to keep up the good work and won the map with a total score of 16-9.

Both teams jumped onto de_dust2, where Frag eXecutors, who began as terrorist, showed what has become a very common strategy in the pistol round: long rush with glocks and grenades and send the HE's onto the CT's as they try to defuse the bomb. This actualy worked for Frag eXecutors as they managed to take the lead. On the other side, SK Gaming stars came back on boards after they managed to claim some rounds but their recovery was short-lived, as Frag eXecutors added two more rounds to force the Swedes to call a timeout, wchich really worked as they went from 1-8 to 6-9, a result which gave them more confidence for the second half.
SK Gaming started the second half with a middle rush in the pistol round but they found themselves cornered by Frag eXecutors players covering middle B and those who quickly rotated from catwalk. The second round went to Frag eXecutors aswell, but SK Gaming picked five rounds in a row and pushed the match on 11 rounds. Frag eXecutors called a timeout to chill the situation but it looked useless at the begining, after SK Gaming managed to get a 14-12 score. However, in the last rounds, Frag eXecutors proved to be a very strong team and turned the score around to win it 16-14.
