zonic blogs about their trip to Sweden, and how their first match went against the Swedish team Lions.

Hey guys!

As many of you guys know, we are in Jonkoping, Sweden at the moment playing Dreamhack Summer 2011.

The journey began at Copenhagen where minet and ArcadioN rented our car for the trip to Jonkoping. It was only a 3 hours trip so it went smoothly and we also had some time to stop at see places of the city.

ave and his girlfriend decided to take the train, so we met up with them at our hotel ( Best Western John Bauer)

Today we woke up around 08:00 AM. (2 hours before our match) and headed towards the event 45 minutes after. When we arrived we were told about some delay (30 minutes) and after the NaVi match against Lions, the admins rushed us to setup as quickly as possible.

We started plugging in our gear, and as soon as we were done, they asked if we were ready. We told them that we also wanted some warmup, but they said that they were behind schedule. I personally, and I know my team thinks the same, does not think its fair that Lions had one match + the time to setup their gear, and we only had 10 minutes.

I know that the admins of Dreamhack are pressured, but they need to plan things way better before the event. We don't think it is acceptable. They have 20 computers for 12 teams, and both groupstages needs to be played in one day, which is impossible if all the teams should have a fair warmup.

Regarding the match we got a bad start, minet did have any sound in the first round (they rushed ramp) etc. We managed to get back in the game, and we read them quite easy as T where they only got one round.

Now we are sitting at our hotel waiting another 30 minutes before going to the event. The atmosphere is as always lovely and people are enjoying their time here. The weather on the other hand could have been better, since it is raining like shit all the time here.

So far it has been good, but the CS admins of Dreamhack are not nice this year :(!
